2. Head shots should be just that; head shots. Professionally done portraits. Don’t monkey around with cute "Look at me with my dog" or "Hey! I’m gesturing!" poses. That’s called "lifestyle" photography and is great, but should be saved for ads and for specific collateral material and other spots on the web site. See #3 below.
3. Have more photos on the website than just your headshots. If the only pics on your website are your headshots, you end up looking about as personal as the obituaries. Seriously. I’m not kidding this time. If your reason for having photos is to be personal and show the people that are going to be working with your clients, then show them doing different things. Pepper the site with "lifestyle" shots; people in meetings, working ins small groups, younger and older attys working together, people on site in various industries, people speaking to groups, people doing community work, etc. That adds real life to the site.
