It includes:
- A deck of 100 "subject" cards that provide the "seeds" for your stories. In four suits (Characters, props, events and settings), each card includes a poem that helps reveal and hint at the creative possibilities contained in everyday (and not-so-everyday!) subjects.
- 100 original poems (on the cards) to help get your mind into a creative, exploring place.
- Creativity exercises to help teach you that you do have the creative power and ability to create and tell stories.
- Detailed instructions on how to get the most from different types of "TaleWeaving" sessions.
- Suggestions for storytelling strategies.
- A history and introduction as to why telling original stories can be important and meaningful, and how TaleWeaver can help.
- An original short story, "The Middle of Katherine’s Tale," about a girl for whom storytelling becomes very important.
- New for the 2nd edition: TaleWeaver RPG — a lightweight roleplaying game based on good storytelling principles.
The goal of TaleWeaver is to enable you to tell stories whenever and wherever you want. To create (if you wish) an ongoing, interactive collection of stories for you and your family to enjoy and remember. You have the creative power; TaleWeaver helps you set aside some of the myths about creativity. You’ll enjoy discovering and telling stories, and (hopefully) put some of the creativity exercises to work in other areas of your life.
You should really buy TaleWeaver. It’s good.
And if you know anybody who might be interested in publishing or promoting TaleWeaver on a larger scale, let me know.
