About & Contact

TinkerX is about creativity as the fuel for value in the Age of Content. If that’s not vague and metaphoric for you, I’ll add more later. Or you can send me an email and tell me what you think it’s about, and I’ll add that. TinkerX is largely the work of Andy Havens, with much thievery and linking to the works of others.

If you didn’t read the initial “Hello, World,” post, the short version explaining the name of the blog is this: “Tinker” refers to the trade. “X” refers to the generation. A tinker puts together stuff. Messes around. Takes pieces and parts and joins them up into something interesting. GenX is my clan. TinkerX.

This is a private blog and does not — unless specifically mentioned in a particular post — reflect the work I do during my day gig as Manager of Brand and Creative Services at OCLC Online Computer Library Center. While I may occasionally mention stuff from the library realm, or get post ideas from all the wonderful, smart people that I interact with at work, you shouldn’t take anything on this blog to be in any way a statement of that organization.
