HBO’s “Rome” was excellent, if, at times, a bit melodramatic. The weird thing was that I was watching “Rome” on DVD at about the same time I was watching some TiVo’d episodes of “Nip/Tuck” which is horrible and bad for me and yet I cannot turn away. And my thought, at the time, was, “The folks on ‘Rome’ seem more connected to how I live than those on ‘Nip/Tuck.’” You know when your modern-day show is more alienating than gladiators… sumfin’s funny.

Yes to 24 and Battlestar. If you haven’t binged on them yet, you should also try Deadwood and The Wire.

I hear Rome is good, also, but haven’t seen it.
