		<description>&lt;p&gt;In "Hollywood Economics," Professor Arthur De Vany provides a lot of complex analysis to support the conclusion that "nobody knows anything" about what movies will be hits.  Personally, I believe that "nobody knows anything" is much more broadly applicable to symbolic competition for attention.  "Nobody knows anything" doesn't mean that attentional regularities (sex, violence) don't exist, but that these regularities, which are generally appreciated, are internalized within the art and hence neutralized.&lt;/p&gt;
