Thanks for presenting these ideas with humor and thoughtfulness. I'm putting together an Advent calendar with daily activities for myself and husband for the second year in a row, and will definitely use a few of these (esp. rewriting the 12 Days of Christmas and overtipping on a meal). Our version of the yearly journal is to write the year's memories and events on a clear glass ornament with colored Sharpies. Just a few words to remember where we went, what we did, who we met--a fast, cheap tradition that helps us reflect together on the year gone by. Merry Christmas to you, a bit early!

The list was amazing, and I am now following advice #8 from the Meaningful Ideas list (yeah, sue me) ^__^
*currently making Christmas Box to put ornaments in*
You know, I've always wanted this nifty advent calendar thing made out of wood *with little drawers*... might just make one... xD
Happy (Early) Holidays! *I begin celebrating in November*

I popped over from getrichslowly, and I'm glad I did. I can't wait to Mad-Lib and mix up holiday stories with my elementary aged rug rats.

And, by the way, one of our most cherished traditions is that in between the main course and dessert on Thanksgiving, all of the kids must run upstairs and put on, for the first time, their matching holiday jammies. No jammies, no whipped cream in the mouth from crazy uncle Jeff. (It makes our family photos into a weird Where's Waldo as we try to find the heads in the matching bodies).

Okay, that makes me sound more eccentric than I really am. Aren't you glad you don't live next door to me? :)
